I have used the Sawyer Mini on my 3L bladder in my pack for a number of years. Great for just filling the bladder and drinking on-demand, but slow for filtering water for dinner or coffee. Thanks for the reply. If they are thick, my clothing treatment might not keep them out of my eyes, ears, etc.

No bug problems, but rain events on the AT had me cooking "indoors" (in my tent) a couple times.

July Bugs and Permethrin

I've had good results with treating clothing with Permethrin, but I keep wondering if it's really enough with July mosquitoes on IR. My son, a good friend and I are planning to hike the Feldtman Loop in a little over a week, and I'm wondering if bug nets are overkill or a necessity.
