Re: What Food Is Best?

Hey everyone! Thanks for so many responses! I totally agree, now that I look back on some of my trips, Clif bars will get old! I’ll take up some of the suggestions that were posted for sure! I don’t have any experience dehydrating food. I’m a little nervous about trying that one out, but who knows! ...

Re: Will I need a sleeping bag liner?

Awesome! Thanks everyone! I’m now looking into specific kinds of sleeping pads. My husband just bought the Sleepngo pad so I’m going to test it to see if I like it or not! If it seems like it’s going to do the job, I won’t go with the liner. I do sleep with lots of clothes, and nice warm wool socks ...

Will I need a sleeping bag liner?

My husband and I are planning our first trip to Isle Royal this June. We are shooting for June 18-22, but our dates are not set in stone yet. I have been looking into different options for gear and one thing I don’t see addresses very often is sleeping bag liners. I know the weather in June can resu...

Re: June 2020 Itinerary Review

Thank you all so much for your responses! I totally agree, I would love the Pipe Dream itinerary option the most, but right now it's not looking like I'm going to be able to get that extra day that I want from my husband! I will for sure be skipping East Chickenbone as it does sound like a bit of pa...

Re: Platypus GravityWorks 4.0 Filter

This is awesome news! I was hoping not to buy something new, as I really like the Platypus! It has always worked great for me! I appreciate the tip about testing it out before we go again! Man would that be awful to find out it wasn’t in working order when we got to the island!

What Food Is Best?

Hello Everyone! I'm planning my first trip to Isle Royal in June 2020. I have been doing tons of research and I wanted some insights into what kinds of food people are typically bringing? First, I do have a Jetboil that will be coming to the island with my husband and I. This is the first time my hu...

Platypus GravityWorks 4.0 Filter

Hello Everyone, I am planning my very first trip to Isle Royal this coming summer in early June. I have been going back and forth on the various water filters that are available and which would be best for this trip. I was thinking of using my Platypus GravityWorks 4.0 Filter. Here's the link on Ama...

June 2020 Itinerary Review

Hello Everyone! My husband and I are planning our first trip to Isle Royal in June 2020. We are looking to go for a few days (4-5) in late June. We decided to splurge and we are going to take the seaplane in from Houghton, MI. We are going to be the first flight out on a Thursday. I do know that the...
