Ingo makes some good points. To expand on them - the boat rentals in Rock Harbor do indeed limit where you can take them, plus if it is foggy the day you wish to go, they will not let you take off untill the fog lifts. But a few thoughts on reservations - I generally love being able to reserve a campsite here in Wis as they are drive to and the weather virtually never forces campers to delay their arrival date. two wolves came over from the mainland, spent two weeks on the Island, and went back. On vacation I guess.

Assuming the ice bridge forms, the wolves will have the freedom to choose to stay on the rock, or freedom to migrate to the mainland. Win win for them and newborn moose calves.
