Re: Updates: Two campers found dead on IR

Keep in mind if/when the story comes out in its entirety, it will make your stomachs turn. The amount of rage required to “snap” and use a knife or to do it with your bare hands at that level of relationship is ‘almost’ incomprehensible. Premeditated? Well that’s another horrible rabbit hole.

Re: A comprehensive question

I noticed you note a 1 night limit at Washington Creek, but the Greenstone says 3 (in case you don't get a camper cabin).
Malone Bay has nature's jacuzzi! Ask me when the time gets closer...
It does occur to me that you could also do the Malone to Greenstone leg as a day trip out of Malone at ...

Re: Two Campers Found Dead on IR

Rangers would have hiked in out of Malone bay i suspect.

Good point. That's 11 miles as well.

Although I ask... Would there be a pair of Rangers already at Malone?

Possibly, when I was in Malone in May they had someone out there getting things started up. I assume they were getting the ...

Re: Trip Report: Moosewatch 2025: May 10-18

I sincerely wish I had the focus to keep such detailed notes of my days on the island! Phenomenal trip report, sounds like you had a pretty good Moosewatch hike. Sadly, the phone loss is a rough spot :-(

Re: Opening Crew Lands at Mott Island

Don't look like the Ranger we caught docking last year!

Edit: I checked and it was 4/24 when I caught the Ranger III on the Mott island camera last season.

I'll check the Southside of the island with a tower scanning app when I'm there & see if anything is making it

First Boat Seats

I'm loosing a couple paddlers on this trip for various reasons (medical / financial). We were all a mixed bag of friends/strangers on a 2week slow paced fishing / camping / paddling trip but as usual life always seems to catch up with a couple of people who want to go every season.

If anyone is ...
