I'm sure you've seen the camera traps placed by the NPS to monitor trail activity. Their are also audio recorders placed in certain locations to record bird calls, nature sounds etc. the top has a wood cover that extends out to protect the exposed Microphone with its little foam windscreen.

I noticed you note a 1 night limit at Washington Creek, but the Greenstone says 3 (in case you don't get a camper cabin).
