Re: Advice from Isle Royale magnets, t-shirts, and sweatshirts
Hi Ingo,
The snowflake t-shirts were kind of slow sellers. I checked with Kristine and her reply was:
"Not now. We do get occasional requests for them and may bring them back eventually."

Re: Itinerary Feedback Request - Late June 2017 Trip
Moskey for sure for a rest day. Some of the trails may still be a bit muddy at the end of June - be prepared. Definitely bugs - plan for the worst. Are you familiar with blackflies? Not black flies - BLACKFLIES! Like little gnats. DEET keeps them about a 1/2 inch away from you for an hour or so ...

Changed up the subject line to give more info. Be sure to sign up ASAP if you are interested in any of these workshops as they can fill up fast. Any profits go to IRKPA to help our parks; it looks like they may need lots of help over the next few years.

Re: Solo canoe trip, 3rd week September 2016
Very feasible, but weather dependent as others have mentioned. Ditto the warnings about Middle Island Passage area - wind and currents can collide, creating standing waves/chop. If too bad you could portage on the Rock Harbor Trail past any bad stuff.

Re: Tree incident at Hatchet Lake
The story we heard from the North Shore Volunteer while we were out there a couple of weeks ago was that it was a 22" diameter birch or aspen with a dead top that came down after the hammock was attached, possibly from the vibration/swaying of the hammock.

Re: 4-5 Day Itinerary Feedback
Only suggestion is that you consider the Tobin Harbor trail as an alternative to the RH trail from Threemile to RH for at least one leg. I always take the Tobin Harbor trail as it is MUCH easier hiking.

Re: Looking for feedback
Not too strenuous if you are in shape. If you cut anything, I would leave Lane Cove in as it is the "wildest" of the campgrounds within easy reach of Rock Harbor.
