Re: Finding moose

Last year we were hard pressed to see one in 6 days. This year we saw a TON in 10days. The difference is we woke up earlier (6:00am) and hiked further away from crowds (aka daisy). The most we saw were in Windigo area.

Re: First timer - wondering how difficulty compares to Jordan River Valley in L.P.?

Keep the packweights light (under 30 if possible) and you’ll be fine. I will echo the comments above that the trails are much more rugged than the JRP though. Take your time and work in an extra day if you can.

Re: 10 days / 9 night food plan

Yea our schedule wouldn’t work with a resupply. Also we just got back and it worked out great to just carry it all (I don’t like being forced to maintain a schedule —meeting a boat or making it to a post office on time). The food plan worked out for us really well. 14 days would be another challenge...

Re: [Q] Staying logged in on Google Chrome

For now it is working for me on chrome but it wasn't working for a few days. I deleted board cookies and deleted all my browser cookies and that seemed to help. For now it works flawlessly on my phone (safari).

Weather forecast

Which websites do you guys use for your weather forecasts pretrip? I’m looking at accuweather and weather.com and both have starkly different predictions (10-20 degrees different). What is your favorite and most accurate website? *note on accuweather I had to search “rock harbor lodge” and on weathe...

Re: 10 days / 9 night food plan

Haha. I’ve got several packed specifically for that day (NLD to Washington creek) and a payday candy bar lol. I have tried the builders bars before. They are packed with protein. Again I got sick of them. I think I overdid it on the cliff bars. I’ve got like 3 left from a box I bought this spring an...

Re: 10 days / 9 night food plan

Yes. I’ve been sick of cliff bars lately. So we have some “kind bars” this time. They should work for the longer days. I crave chocolate on the trail which is why we have candy usually. Not sure why bc I hardly eat sweets at home. We had lots of blueberries last year around the same time. Looking fo...
