Thanks for the report.
It make me want to try this paddling thing I keep reading about.

Re: Submissions for PICTURE OF THE WEEK go here

Lane Cove at sunset.
I'm surprised that I caught the dragonfly in the frame.

Re: food help on first trip

The Rock Harbor restaurant was too pricey for us with the 27% tax. We passed on that. Our friends did eat at the Greenstone Grill last Saturday and said the expensive Hamburger was under cooked and not enough waiter staff to service properly. Just how pricey are meals at Rock Harbor? Say for a hamb...

Re: *Seven* Nights in August

Last day of work
2 day(well, 53h, 18m) until we step onto the island.
I think that today may be one of the longest days of the year!

Re: Bag in August?

Fonix - I agree that the +35 bag should be fine. My original post/question was whether just the liner would be sufficient (no bag). I have come to the conclusion that I'd probably end up cold with only the liner. I have in the past also relied on a beanie, gloves, long johns and fleece jackets to bo...

Re: *Seven* Nights in August

Thanks for the comments fonix & John. Fonix, you actually caught a mileage mis-calculation on my first (posted) itinerary, between McCargo and Lane. I had mis-read the mileage chart. If you hadn't caught that, we would have had one helluva day for sure! This trip was actually planned to be my son's ...

Re: Bag in August?

Yeah, fonix, the Nooksack is rated to +35F. The liner is a thin poly, rated to add 8 Degrees F. I was thinking if it was too cold in the liner only, add my jacket. I'm thinking more of the bulk savings rather than the weight. My concern is that you can never be sure just how cold it might get, even ...

Re: *Seven* Nights in August

I certainly hope so.
My map and mileage chart are nearly worn through!
With all the suggestions in the forum, I think I finally put togeter a plan that covers most of the east end.
