Re: Unidentified white spot
It was toilet paper! Thank you for satisfying my curiosity! The webcam caught a small animal (pine marten or squirrel maybe) carrying white object, stopping on rock, then jumping off rock and dropping white object. Presumably the critter picked up the tp from where some hiker left it nearby. Maybe!...

Thanks for the early-season trip report! We're headed for the Minong next week, which makes your snow report the most relevant part for us. Brrr!
The point overlooking Belle Isle Beach is an excellent reading and napping spot.
I'm full of torpified meeting envy!

Option 2 as well: - Lane Cove is nice. It is. The views aren't great. - As Ingo says, the views at Daisy are great. And if you're lucky, the Petersons will be there on a Thursday evening to talk about the wolf/moose study. At Daisy, Thursday is the traditional evening for these presentations. - I'd ...

Unidentified white spot
In the May 16 video from the Greenstone Ridge , a small white spot appears around 0:22, first on a rock to the right of and below center, and then shortly moves off the rock. It is there still. Here's one right before it appeared . Here's the first frame in which it appeared . And here's the first f...

I also affirm dcclark's feedback.
You may also want to consider taking a water taxi to Moskey upon arrival. That could open up some options.

I've been downloading Mott Island Dock photos as well, and it wasn't until April 27 that there were more than a handful of photos available.
See results for April 28 here.
I estimate a 20% chance of keeping up with the Mott Island Dock videos.

Re: Feldtmann loop or not
Island Mine in my experience is lovely. While it's not high on my list as a zero-day destination, I've done it and would do it again. And perhaps the best moose encounter I've had was at Island Mine.
Siskiwit Bay is worth spending extra time at. I look forward to returning someday.

Uh, I've SEEN Raspberry Pis but am not myself inclined to figure them out in this context.
And yes--help is welcome! I'm glad you've enjoyed them.

Re: Itinerary for Feedback for First Time IR Backpackers!
from my recollection the last ~2 miles into Lane Cove will be the most difficult of the 11. From my own recollection the last mile into Lane Cove is the longest three miles of the day, however long I've been hiking. And it's mostly downhill! If you're already at Chippewa Harbor, I'd recommend spend...
