Re: Wow we jsut had an earthquake

Hey Brian, It was an interesting experience. I would not classify myself as an adreneline junky per se. I called my friend niners early this AM. He posts here. We have been friends for a long time and as such have been though a lot including tornadoes, (we are both NWS Weather Spotters), large presc...

Re: Wow we jsut had an earthquake

I was just talking to niners, who lives close to me about this. The epicenter of the quake is within 10 miles of where he lives. It is not on the New Madrid Fault, in fact where it happened, there had not been a previous known fault. It is interesting to note the reports of the strongest tremors were...

US to commit 78 Mil to ASian Carp problem

I would still like to see the locks closed. Once they get in the lake there is no turning back.

Re: Moskey Basin

Moskey Basin is one of my favorite places on the Island. Beautiful shelters facing the water, nice rocks looking SW in Rock Harbor, chance to see moose in the nearby swamps, not a lot of people. Did I mention nice views from the shelter? [URL=http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2082975590056111439EWH...

Re: Water Taxi to Chippewa Harbor

I would make sure you can get a water taxi on the day you arrive to Chippewa. Also have an alternative plan as the water taxi may not go if it is too rough.

Re: Rock Harbor Camping

The tent sites are nice, spread out. The shelters are nice, makes it easier to pack up in the AM if it is raining. Go to the ranger talks, usually informative. If it is clear, enjoy the stars ect from either Rock Harbor or Tobin Harbor. If you have time, the Scoville Point trail is nice, and of cour...
