Re: BUGS!
Would you treat your packs with permethrin too? Sleeping bags? I discovered 'Dick's' is the only place that seems to actually stock it in my area - 24 oz trigger spray. I know one is not enough, but will 2 be enough to do a pack tent, 2 packs, bags and clothing for 2 for a week - my clothing list i...

Re: 1st time ever! Input please
Looks like you have a good plan for a short trip. Pretty easily done mileage. The rock harbor trail that you plan to take on day 1 is harder than the tobin harbor trail but not too bad. Tobin harbor trail would also be nicer if it is raining because the rocks are very slippery on the rock harbor tra...

Re: Lockers for rent in Rock Harbor?
I looked into this last year and what Ingo is saying is true. I will say though the gift shop offers a lot of toiletry products in travel sizes and relatively decent prices (for where you are). They also have a pretty decent selection of tshirts. I am a SUCKER for novelty touristy tshirts and so we ...

Yup what Ingo said. I will also say, bring long sleeves and long pants! You might be a tad warm but it'll do a lot to protect your arms and legs from the bugs.

Re: How much fuel to bring?
10-12 meals per person? Wow that's a lot of boiling!! I would say 2 of the 8oz canisters (1 for each stove), should do it. The jetboil is quick and the MSR whatever it is will be too. Here is a good article for you: https://thesummitregister.com/stoves-10 ... d-i-carry/

Re: How much fuel to bring?
It looks like the original MSR article is gone. Any chance anyone saved it? I'm trying to figure out how much fuel i'll need for a trip in June. Thanks! Check the MSR website they still have articles up. I can try to give you a best guess. How many days are you going for? How many people? And which...

Re: Ranger III Reservations
In my experience, last year, it took a while. I put in my reservations so early that there wasnt enough staff there to process it. I put in for them January 11th and didn't get an official reservation confirmation until April 10th. They did email me almost right away in January to tell me they would...
