No worries, Tampico.
I didn't feel like you were telling me what I HAD to eat.
You were sharing your love of tuna on the trail.
I enjoy GORP sometimes, but didn't take offense when you suggested it wasn't for you.
Guess you hit a nerve with mandolyn.
See you on the trail.

Re: Best lunch ideas
Tampico's lunch sounds more up my alley. But, replace dill relish with sweet.

Re: Off Trail Footwear
I ended up with a pair of Croc Prepairs for $20. We'll see if they really reduce recovery time.

Re: Park Service may move Headquarters from Houghton
Looks like it is directly across the river from the current site. So, you'd have to cross the bridge to get to the dock.
And, the boat ride would be the same amount of time.

Off Trail Footwear
What do people like to wear once they get into camp and out of their boots?
On past trips I've brought my moccasins. But, i'm thinking sport sandals or those funny looking Crocs may work out.
The Crocs seem lightweight and functional regardless of their looks.

Re: Seaplane Logistics
Thanks for the info. United Express/Skywest has a flight from Chicago that arrives into Houghton at 2:19pm which I'm hoping gives us enough time to get to the isle that same day. And, it looks like the flights leave Houghton at 6:44am and 2:45pm for Chicago. I think I read where you can ship a box t...

Seaplane Logistics

Does anyone have any experience with shipping their items to the airport, or have any lessons learned? I can't haul all the gear onto the commercial flight to Houghton. Also, I've ...
