Re: Stove canisters and weight

carry 2 different ones if you need that much. Same reasons as above. One canister failure and you're SOL

We did a 10 day with one 8 ounce canister so keep that in mind. Make sure you need that much fuel.

Re: August Gear Suggestions

1. bug spray- we used a small container (3oz) of picaridin. Yes to the head nets 2. I always wear short "dirty girl" gaiters. They are worth it for me. No rain pants for me. They are hot and annoying. 3. It can get chilly at night. If you have a hood on a jacket you should be ok without a ...

Re: Carrying Water

We used a collapsible bucket on the island. Worked for us. Sea to summit makes it. We just have the small one. Carried back to camp or used it at the dock. Both were nice. Pretty sure I saw y'all using that on your youtube series. Which, I'm also pretty sure, is what gave me the idea. Thanks for th...

Bdavies wrote: Sun Jun 30, 2019 6:31 am Is there a depository for fuel cans? So we can’t fly out with fuel what do we do with it when leaving the island?
We gave ours to another group of hikers. They gladly took it.

Re: Status of flies and mosquitos now?

I would be on the safe side and treat them. The spray lasts a few washes so they will be good for your next trip after the island if bugs end up not being a problem. Better to be safe then sorry.

Re: Todd Harbor/Little Todd Stream

Just wade across. You are so close at that point. Worst case you brave the cold and take your shoes off. Dry them once across and put your warm shoes back on and hike the little bit to camp where you can warm up more.

Re: Feedback on 5 day gear list

I could be thinking of the wrong lightload towels but aren't those a bit large for TP? The ones I saw were marketed as like beach towels. Plus you would have to pack those out. I dont believe they would biodegrade. Again I could be way off base with that. haha. It has been a while since I have seen...
