Good to know. I wonder if this has been a problem all season, or just an isolated incident?

I can depart GP, circumnavigate the island, and return without having to refuel. My outboard-powered companions are not so lucky, so this may affect our upcoming trip.

Most FRS/GMRS radios have NOAA weather receive capability, and they're a heck of a lot smaller than the radio in your link.
