I have done a bit of off trail exploring in the Malone Bay area. I use a map and compass and don't have any GPS points to speak of (othere than moose remains I came across). Be prepared to "hike" the water along the shore as there are places where that is the only way to go, short of backt...

Do I need to be a registered camper at that site to dock there during the day? So this is my understanding of how the permitting works if you ar...

We have gone up the last 4 or 5 years at that time. Generally the weather is cool high 20's-30-40 at night high 40's low 50's during the day (warmer away from the Lake). You can count on a few sunny "warm" days. Count on a few rainy days and snow is not out of the question. Bugs are normal...
