Re: BUGS!

Got it. thanks. Yeah, I don't need 2 pants. And I guess 1 tee should be sufficient. I'll probably end up wearing sleeves most of the time anyway.

Re: BUGS!

Would you treat your packs with permethrin too? Sleeping bags? I discovered 'Dick's' is the only place that seems to actually stock it in my area - 24 oz trigger spray. I know one is not enough, but will 2 be enough to do a pack tent, 2 packs, bags and clothing for 2 for a week - my clothing list is...

Re: June 25-30 plan

Thanks - sounds good. Okay, I'll drink Superior water. I don't have an aversion to it, but it got your attention. The suggestion of the bays instead of the lakes area due to bugs is on my radar. So Chickenbone is the last water source to Lane's Cove. And if we go out to McCargoe it's only a couple m...

June 25-30 plan

I guess this is where I ask about this. We HAVE to take a float plane - it's on her bucket list or whatever. We'll be arriving Rock Harbor around 5PM June 25 weather permitting - plane is for 4PM from UP. Here is the plan: Arrive RH plane dock, hike and stay at 3 mile night 1. Day 2 hike to Lake Ric...

Re: [Tool] Isle Royale Trip Planner Spreadsheet

haha, Without a usable map one has to guess on every data point since my destination from point A to point B is not an option. And since I didn't 'double' entry for "camp" it doesn't show that. So with no 'camp' days, it took 25 entries to get from Rock Harbor to 3 mile to Lake Richie to W...

Re: June fishing inland

Thanks Tom. Any chances to catch perch over 8"? I obviously can't bring a 'tackle box' along - maybe a couple spoons... but if perch can be had I'd gravitate toward a couple small jig heads and twisters. Or should I just count on a small pike for dinner? 24" I believe - I'll look it up. Of...

Re: Flying with a stove

I called the vendor at Rock and was told they sell 'gas' at the marina for my stove. the one I didn't get yet. I read where someone bought a canister o the island but wrong threads for their stove. Since I never carried a fancy stove before - ala pocket rocket or similar - I want to be sure I can ge...

June fishing inland

Hello. New here. Going to IR on short notice - 3 weeks. Have trans set to and fro. Arriving 6/22 for a five day hike - and possible fishing. I've looked all over net for info and read as much as I could find on this forum for fishing info - still stumped. I have questions if they can be answered. My...
