Outdoor Research used to make padded cells to carry stoves, water filters, etc. They no longer carry them. Any ideas where they can be found now?

Re: Post Office

I have had resupply parcel delivered to me by Voyageur, but not knowing how much parcel would weigh to ship back home not quite sure how I would do that. I think I will talk to my local PO and see if I can buy postage for a 25LB parcel for future use. We will see.

A trip I have done a number of times when short on time is water taxi to Moskey, then onto W/Chickenbone or McCargoe Cove, both beautiful, then Daisy and then Rock. Not a lot of miles but you rally get immersed in all aspects of the island. A great trip

Re: Ice Breaking Operations

Scan16_0016.jpg I spent the years 77-79 on the USCGC Woodrush and Mesquite which were 180' ocean going buoy tenders out of Duluth. Spent 2 full winters on lake breaking ice while in summer tending all the aids to navigation on the lake. They were the best years of my Coast Guard career. Spent many ...

Re: Rain pant recommendations

I splurged and got some Mountain Hardware Gore Tex and absolutely love them. Have used them from Isle Royale, 100 Mile Wilderness in Maine, even used them last spring on a 10 day raft trip down the Colorado River/Grand Canyon, to keep dry in mornings in the shade of canyon when hitting rapids, kept ...

Re: water taxi rates

Thanks everybody for responses.
