Janet Marr will lead another of her very popular botany workshops on the island from June 13 - 18. Janet is a botanist with many years of research on Isle Royale. She is the co-author of our book, Island Life. This special botany workshop is open to anyone with beginning/intermediate knowledge of plant identification who would like to learn to identify the early season plants of Isle Royale. You'll learn to use such tools as a dichotomous key and hand lens to identify plants. Plant communities, rare species, ecology, and invasive species will be discussed. Cost for the the workshop, with instruction, transportation, and all meals provided is $675 per person if registered by March 5, 2011 ($650 for IRKPA members). After March 5, 2011, the cost is $699 ($674 for IRKPA members).A $200 deposit is required to reserve your place in the workshop. Participation is limited to 12 people and registration is open immediately.
