Advice for Our First Trip?

My 82 year old Grandma and I are going to Isle Royale for the first time in September. We are staying 3 nights in a Windigo Camper Cabin, then one night in Rock Harbor Lodge (all accommodation and transportation reservations have been made).

She wants to go kayaking. She is a more experienced kayake than I, I am definitely a novice. How is the kayaking in Washington Harbor? What does it cost to rent a kayak?

The Windigo Camper Cabins have gas grills it says, does that include fuel or do we have to buy it? If we have to buy it, what do they charge? I've tried asking the company that rents the cabins by email, and while I got a reply they didn't actually answer my questionsin the reply.

My grandma is concerned she is going to be cold. Who has been therein early September and what was the weather like for you?

I read the Windigo Camper Cabins are on top of a hill in one post. True? How big of a hill?

Any other advice appreciated.

Kayak/canoe rates are here: https://www.rockharborlodge.com/rock-harbor-marina. They're the same at Windigo. I think a 1/2 day is 4 hours.
Expect temps in the 50s to 60s. But could be anywhere from 30s to 80s at the extremes. Sept varies quite a bit as the seasons change.
The cabins are up on the side of a hill, but there is a "road" that wraps around and is less steep than the trail.

The grills have gas, it was included when we rented one a couple years ago.

Here is a map of Windigo that further illustrates Ingo's comments...
