National Park Quarters

Post by niners »

Read this on the NPCA site:

America's Beautiful National Parks Quarter Dollar Have you enjoyed collecting the state quarters? Do you still look through your change for a state that has eluded you?

If yes, get ready for your next challenge. The United States Mint is releasing a series of quarters devoted to our national parks.

The series is set to begin in 2010. The series will feature national parks and national park sites in 56 jurisdictions, including the District of Columbia and each U.S. territory.

This sounds like a good idea. I know that I'm always interested in exploring new parks. So it will be cool to have them feature different parks from the different states. Hopefully people will become more interested in the National Park system through this initiative.

Sounds pretty cool. Both of my kids got one of those heavy-duty cardboard maps of the U.S. where each state has a hole for inserting that state's quarter into the board. They've been collecting all the new quarters when they come out. They have enjoyed the thrill of the hunt for the last several years so I'm sure this will go over nicely as well.
