Is there a reason the forum time is ~ 24 minutes ahead of real time?
It isn't really an issue since I signed up for the forum & it automatically tells me what I didn't read since the last time I was on. But when I was lurking I would skip stuff based on the time it said it was posted compared to the last time I knew I was on.

Probably because IRNP is above the 45th parallel, and has a shorter distance to travel, relative to that if you were at the equator.
So it's running a little fast?

I figure it is because fonix is a little ahead of us all as he is fast. Don't play mumbly-peg with him

position in the eastern time zone would make the time something like 64 minutes fast all by itself.

IRNP is so close to the CST zone, you allow 8 minutes for 5 sections of the EST zone as one moves E to W (8x5=40).
64 - 40 = 24 min fast; works out just fine.

Sadly, the problem wasn't because I'm fast (I'm not). It was actually a server-side issue. The hosting company has fixed the problem, so the time should now be correct.
I default the forums to Central Standard Time because, well, that's where I live and get on the boat at (Grand Portage). You can change your time zone under "User Control Panel -> Board Preferences -> My Time Zone".
Thanks to darksideofoz for identifying the problem, and thanks to everyone else who confirmed it for us!
P.S., I really like jrweisz's explanation of things.
