I agree that the Suomi is the place for breakfast. You have to try the Pannu Kakkua (Finnish pancake).

I spent a few years at DaTech and that's the go to place for breakfast. If you are lucky they might have pasties ready and you can take one with you to eat on the boat ride over for lunch.

I was in Houghton earlier this month and was introduced to Roy's Pasties. I guess they've been around for quite awhile but it was my first time there for lunch. I have to say they have the best traditional pasty I've had. They have a full service bakery with breakfast pasties and open at 7 am. They are in a new large location on Lake Shore Drive, right on the Portage Canal, just a couple hundred yards west of the lift bridge. I did take Donk's suggestion and one day tried Toni's in Laurium. Excellent breakfast and bakery.
