Isle Royale Queen III returns to Lake Superior

Questions about how to get to the island and where to stay near points of departure.

Isle Royale Queen III returns to Lake Superior

Post by johnhens »

The Queen III, often referred to as the barf barge, is returing to Lake Superior waters. It was making the run between Menominee and Sturgeon Bay in Green Bay, but will be moving to Marquette to do shore cruises next year.

Having had the "pleasure" of using the Queen III during the 70's before she was lengthened (in 1989), I can personally attest to the righteousness of her nick name.

The Queen II was single-handedly responsible for causing me to treat all water vessels with a great deal of suspicion and trepidation. Canoes. Aircraft carriers turned into museums. You name it.
