Handing mail to Voyageur ll?
Since the Voyageurll is the mailboat, is it allowed and accepted to hand outgoing mail to the crew when the ferry stops at an outlying dock? For instance, can I mail postcards written during my trip if I am at the dock at Chippewa Harbor when the Voyageur stops on her route?

While I can't say if they are obligated to do it, I've certainly seen them take mail from folks standing on docks before... perhaps just because the crew are really nice folks and it's not a huge imposition to just put the mail in the bag after they embark or disembark passengers and gear. The standard disclaimers apply, like 'make sure it has postage' and 'The V-II will not be stopping if there isn't a scheduled pickup or drop off of passengers..'
As a courtesy, certainly wait until they've taken care of the passengers at the dock.
If it's critical you can always call GPIR and ask.
