Storing extra gear at the lodge while we backpack

Post by MichiganNPSFan »

Hi all,
Just wondering if it's possible to store some gear at the Lodge while we backpack for several nights. We will have a two-night reservation at the lodge at the end of the trip, and it would be great to save some weight by storing a day pack with fresh clothes and other items at the lodge while on our trek. I didn't see anything about this on the Lodge's website, and was wondering what other people have done.

Thanks!

No, there are no storage lockers on the Island. The concession operation at Rock Harbor and Windigo does offer a service to store gear for a fee. The box of gear cannot contain stove fuel or food. Contact the Rock Harbor Lodge office for more information.
