Nice list :D
"And standing on the the crest of the Greenstone Ridge, I suddenly had this desire to retreat north to where I just come, to stay in the backcountry, to spend another day in a place where the only deadline I had was to pitch the tent before dark."

Thank you! Very nice list. Some others to add without recommendation - I've only browsed:

The Boilerworks
http://www.theboilerwerks.com/ - makes "the first lightweight chimney kettle"

Suluk 46
http://www.suluk46.com/index.html - various gear for the ultralite backpacker. Also offers small to large production runs of your own designs.

By the way, I love Packit Gourmet and Mountain Laurel Designs.

Don't know if this is a cottage industry, but if you sew you might also like Quest Outfitters - Tyvek, Cuben Fiber, Silnylon and much much more. http://www.questoutfitters.com/index.html

They have links to a number of make it or do it yourself sites.

----

A small place in Winona, MN makes lightweight sleeping quilts, enLIGHTened equipment: http://www.enlightenedequipment.com/. -- One note about the website - I've had a lot of trouble using it (sometimes just an hour glass, other times pages don't change). Could be I need to go from IE 8 to IE 9, but I need 8 for other apps I use. Sometimes it helps to try once or twice, then try to open the site in a second IE window.

I now own one of his 0 degree down quilts - 27oz. It figures that it arrived just as it turned from winter to summer (who needs spring, huh?) here in Wisconsin. But it looks great and was delivered when he said it would be (3 weeks for my model).
