circumnavegation IR

Early this month I spent a week kayaking IR. From Rock Harbor we made it around Blake Point and went around Amygdaloid Island. Explored Pickerel Cove and Robinson Bay. Came back around and went to Rock Harbor Lighthouse and Edisen Fishery. We've got to go back. What a spectacular place! Next year we want to circumnavegate the island. Campsites seem far and few between Hay Bay and Grace or Beaver Island. Has anyone done any zone camping in this area? I've heard that there is a spot on the east facing side of Long Point. Any thoughts on the campsites at Huginnin Cove or Little Todd? Since sites can't be reserved I wonder how likely it would be that sites fill up. If we do this we would allow probably 2 weeks in order to enjoy the trip as well as have some days to stay put depending on the weather. I've also thought about calling the rangers to see what they have to say. Your thoughts?

I have stayed at Little Todd once while paddling the North side. No one there besides us in August. Stayed at Hugginin a few times both hiking and paddling, did not have a problem with getting a site. I have talked to various folks who have paddled the SW side. Plenty of good places to camp along the way. You have to get a backcountry permit.

There is plenty of room at Little Todd for multiple campers (even if every site is full). Like the poster above, when we stayed there (August 2017) we were the only folks there. The beaches at Little Todd would be easy to land a kayak.
