NWS Map of weather radio coverage

Post by johnhens »

The topic of NWS radio broadcasts and coverage of IR has come up in the past. Thought some here would be interested in this coverage map.

Stations:
Houghton, weather radio channel 1, frequency 162.400
Thunder Bay, weather radio channel 4, frequency 162.475
Grand Marais, weather radio channel 3, frequency 162.450
Copper Harbor, weather radio channel 5, frequency 162.500

Note that Canada uses the same system as the U.S., so any weather radio can get Thunder Bay. On the NE end of the island I find channels 4 or 1 most reliable, and occasionally 3. I think 5 (Copper Harbor) has a weaker signal and don't recall ever getting/using it.
