TR: 2012 The Diamonds & Puke Tour-got engaged on Isle Royale

Post by TrailPotato »

My wife and I got engaged on Isle Royale a couple years ago and I couldn't think of a better experience. Even with the nasty weather and HUGE waves getting there. Here is a link to a post I did:

I agree googles got it wrong. After all that she said yes and continues with your adventures with you. You ARE the luckiest man on earth : ).

Seriously. Very cool read.
Enjoy your adventures together.

My Husband proposed to me on the island at Rainbow Cove, in the spring of 2010! (My very first trip no less)
We Honeymooned on the Island in the fall of 2010. My friends joked that the only reason I said yes was because I was afraid he'd leave me there.
The Island sure is a magical place.
Congratulations!

Awww... I saw that 'memory' at Threemile shelter 4 last spring, and now it makes much more sense.

Thanks for sharing. Given this report, of course Mike and Nancy, a couple I met at McCargoe, and another couple at Daisy, I'm thinking that Isle Royale will become to new 'Valentine's Day Fancy Restaurant.' You know - A gal will know that when her beau invites her to go hiking at Isle Royale, she'll be boasting school-girlishly to all her friends, "I think he's going to propose! I know! He wants me to go to Isle Royale!"

Soon people were losing it all around us. I was next. Then Julie.
When I read this part of the trail report all I could think of was the following scene from a movie I am sure many of you are familiar with? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zK0JaEde ... e=youtu.be
343.1 Miles Hiked: 2004 (3 Days), 2010 (11 Days), 2011 (13 Days), 2012 X 2 (8 + 12 Days), 2013 (9 Days/Paddling), 2019 (30 Days/Paddling)
