Arrival Date: August 23th
Departure Date: August 30th
Coming From/Via: Seaplane, Hancock, MI
Itinerary:
RH-DF
DF-MB (2 Days)
MB-MC (2 days)
MC-LC I hope, Alternate plan is DF or Three mile.
?-RH

Notes/Other: Would love to go to lane cove if the weather is not bad, not sure if my wife is up for that many miles, so I need a backup plan. First time on the Island in 32 years (I said I would be back next year! lol) We do have some experience backpacking Pictured Rocks, many times. And we have have been upgrading our equipment. I think the lane cove trek is doable, if the weather is ok. My wife is not so sure. We are 52 and 50, in decent shape.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Heading out soon!

Name: Katie Nicholas
Email: katie.nicholas77@gmail.com
Hometown: Livonia, MI

Arrival Date: (Houghton 9/13/2020) Isle Royale 9/14/2020
Departure Date: 9/18/2020 (Houghton 9/19)
Coming From/Via: Houghton (Franklin Square Inn) via Sea Plane

Itinerary: (Tentative) Three Mile, Daisy, Moskey, Three Mile OR Rock to Mt. Franklin to Daisy to McCargo.

Notes/Other:
Looking forward to visiting Isle Royale for the second year in a row. It will be my first experience coming into Rock Harbour as last year I came via sea plane to Windego. Our final route is still tentative as of today. This year we thought we might shorten up the hiking time to enjoy more time at our camping area taking photos, relaxing and a few side hike excursions. I hope we get to see the Northern Lights this time. I am visiting with my friend, Kate.

Temps are looking average for this time of year (High mid 50's - low mid 40's )but inland Houghton is expecting a frost with temps possibly dipping into the low 20's. Hoping the lake effect keeps the temps on the island warmer and that cold weather stays inland!

Attached are a few wildlife photos I took last year. Will post a trip report when we return. Enjoy!
