Winter study

Does anyone know what's happening with winter study this year? I've been following it daily and haven't seen any updates since the first one a week ago.

I've been wondering the same thing. Been 10 days since that 1st post. Don't even know if they made it on to the island.

I'm curious too. I've been watching the MODIS imagery daily (looking at the ice bridge forming) and the past several days have been clear (and cold). So you think flying there wouldn't be a problem. Maybe they're just very busy.

They have been out on the Island since last Tuesday. Apparently they are having some technical problems, but will post updates when they are able.

Do they need an IT guy? I'll gladly go.

Heck I'd pay my way by cutting firewood so they don't have to quit early this year.

I have offered to overwinter there (the whole Island) as a caretaker. So far no response from the NPS.

Mesmerized.

Wondering what happened to the 2 or 3 pups they thought they found this last summer.
