WIFI availability
I was reading the posts regarding the availability of WiFi @ Windigo and RH but all of them were from last year. Has anyone been to IR recently (I will be there from 7/18-7/25) and used the WiFi @ either end? I am just looking to send an email home. Thanks

Re: WIFI availability
I believe the Lodge in RH has wifi, but it sounds as if it's neither reliable or always available.

Re: WIFI availability
I didnt try it in Windigo mid June, but some others there did. They could always connect to it when on the store porch, but the internet was usually not available. As a disclaimer it was foggy the whole time they were trying, which is why they were trying. They were stuck with the sea plane not flying.

Re: WIFI availability
Last year the WIFI in Rock Harbor was quite intermittent and slow. It took moving around, patience and a few retries to just send a short email. It was also password protected. I was staying at the lodge so they provided the password.

Re: WIFI availability
The WiFi in Windigo was pretty poor recently. It wasn't password protected. I was able to use it to get a few text messages out. They don't want people using it while the store is open because they have limited bandwidth and they need it for their credit card machine.
You can access the Rock Harbor WiFi by going up to the actual lodges and using the guest WiFi. It is password protected, but the password is pretty easy to guess if you know where you are. I only used it for text messages. It seemed pretty slow and unreliable otherwise.
