Tiger Musky
So, my uncle claims I caught a Tiger Musky on my trip... I don't think it was, and also don't believe they exist in the inland lakes because there are no muskies in the inland lakes. Anyone here can tell me that I am wrong. Anyway, to settle the debate, what kind of fish is this?
It is ~26" long.

Re: Tiger Musky
I think it is a Northern, although the black striping on the body of this one happens to make it look similar to a Tiger Musky. A Tiger Musky is actually a hybrid; a cross between a true Musky and a Northern. Nice catch either way.
Here are some other pictures, side by side.

I thought it was a northern also, didn't think there were muskys in the inland lakes to make the hybrid.

Nice fish.
Its a northern that has been spending its time on the surface or in the shallows with sandy bottoms, during very sunny days. This is the coloration displayed when one catches ole esox in shallow lily pad bays.
