Ice Bridge Forming?

Post by treeplanter »

This surprised me. It looks like a ice bridge is trying to form between the mainland and the Island. It's thin ice and will probably break up, but it's more than what we saw last year.

That doesn't seem likely, I think that forecast/report is a bit optimistic. The most recent MODIS runs (no clouds today!) look like it's still pretty open. There is a bit of a flow coming out of Thunder Bay, though.

MODIS can be fooled too. I live near Lake Charlevoix and I can absolutely tell you that this didn't show up as ice on the MODIS imagery when the pic was taken on January 15th.

I'm rooting for a bridge to form! It would be awesome if the supplmental wolves showed up under their own power . . . .

Let's hope for an ice bridge, but still long odds of a few wolves making it over and staying.

That is one of the neatest pictures I've ever seen.

Agreed, great photo.

Looks like maybe an icebridge this year.

Love to see 2 or 3 new wolves come out on their own.
