It's interesting the article makes no mention regarding the expected fate of the wolves, now remaining on Michipicoten Island, now that their primary food source has been removed.

It's been suggested that those wolves be moved to Isle Royale, but it appears that wasn't going to happen soon enough for the Caribou.

I've read that the caribou taken to Slate are actually from the ancestors of the caribou taken to Michipicoten from Slate to save them when wolves showed up there.
