I’ve skimmed through most of the text in this book and it really is a complete source of information about the entire island. For $17 you can get a signed copy before official publication at Michigan trail maps. The only thing that was a bit disappointing is that non of the digital maps were included with the book.

If you need digital map resources for trip planning & way points just do a post search. A few folks have contributed some great resources that pretty much cover all your needs I expect

DuFresne has a new business that sells digital (and printable or printed) maps that give much more detail. If you want them, I think there’s a shoutout in the fly leaf of the 5th edition. Or just search for Michigan hiking maps.

BBBike, OpenTopoMap, OpenStreetMap, AcmeMapper, GPSFileDepot, and a couple others all offer free digital maps, tools and resources.
