Maps

Post by Dryrot »

I have the Trails Illustrated map of the island. It is nearly the same scale (1:50,000) as the Fisher F series maps I have been using in Quetico for years. Any need to get more detailed topo, or other, maps? I'll be going solo from McCargoe to Rock Harbor via Belle Isle.

I hope you are paddling. If that is the National Geographic map, it is fine. It even shows water distances. If you are paddling around Blake Point, be careful and go around on a calm day. The confluence of the West/East waters can be nasty.

I've used that Trails Illustrated map for years and have never had a problem finding my way around. It seems to have a lot of useful information on it.
