Suffice it to say that the Ranger III in 6-8 foot seas is a bit uncomfortable as was the water taxi the next day to Moskey Basin (it could not go to Chippewa) and oh, the temperature hitting the mid-30s that Saturday night at W Chickenburr...... (20 degree sleeping bag...NOT!)
Our hike was:
Overnight Rock Harbor
Water Taxi to Moskey -
Overnight West Chickenbone
Overnight Hatchet Lake
Overnight Todd Harbor (oh the sunset....)
Overnight McCargoe Cove
Overnight Daisy Farm
2 Overnights at Rock Harbor (we didn't feel like staying at 3 mile).
The report will come sometime this week. Best photos - a loon feeding a baby some fish just caught and the sunset at todd harbor - I think....
We were one day behind you at McCargoe and Daisy Farm. Were on Ranger III the same day back to Houghton. We sat in the forward lounge on the port side.
We were at W. Chickenbone that same night (Aug 29th) on a 4 day trip. You're right, it was a cool one, but at least the 40 hour rain had stopped around noon, giving us time to dry out. This was my first visit to IR and I loved it!
