Thanks for sharing, DonNewcomb! Those wolf tracks don't look that old - One had to be through not too much earlier.
The tree growths (at least in the one photo) look like classic "witch's broom" - Which is essentially a funky outgrowth of the tree that can be caused by a variety of factors, both biotic and abiotic. I can recall seeing it on the trail near Daisy Farm a year or so ago... Too bad it was high up and I couldn't get much of a shot.
