Kayak Circumnavigation Aug 6-11
A group of 6 kayakers put in Friday afternoon at Rock Harbor, Aug 6 and pulled out at Rock Harbor early afternoon Aug 11. Great weather aided our counter-clockwise circumnavigation. See the following link for more info: http://www.spotadventures.com/trip/view/?trip_id=219685
Let me know if questions. I hear that if we had not gotten in when we did we might have been stuck for a long time because of a series of gales! Let me know if questions.

What a great trip! You had such good weather and conditions, allowing you to make such good time. Even though I was only reading about it, it seemed like it was over way too soon.
What was the range of experience and skill level in your group? I wonder what the record is for circumnavigation paddling. Do you have more pictures? I’d be very interested to see some more.
The only regret I have regarding your trip is that I wasn’t accompanying you.

Nice TR (Thanks), glad you had fair weather for your trip.
What did your paddling partners think of IR?

You have my vote for "most poetic" TR of the year. You certainly have a way with words, you logophilic sesquipedalian!

Thanks for the compliments on my trip report! Here's a longer slideshow:

Everyone in our group of six had at least one previous kayak expedition on Lake Superior, some with several trips there, including Apostle Islands, Slate Islands, and the Rossport area. We can all perform partner rescues, most can roll.
We all loved Isle Royale. For several of us, it was a second kayak trip. I also backpacked there once. We keep coming back!

Looked like a great trip. Hopefully I'll get our trip report of our second circumnavigation of IR (August 16th-25th) up soon!.
