The canoe is made by Placid Boatworks and some refer to it as an open topped kayak. You can order it with the traditional seating and use a regular canoe paddle, or get it with the lower sitting that is like a kayak in which case you use the kayak paddle. The lower seating gives you a lower center of gravity. It's made of a combination of carbon fiber and kevlar and it only weighs 26 pounds and it's very fast for a canoe. I had portaging Isle Royale specifically in mind when I bought mine.
The song "On the Road to Find Out' comes from the Cat Stevens album 'Tea for the Tillerman'. I haven't listened to that album since I was a teenager a long, long time ago and I was suprised that the people who compiled that video knew of it.
