Must be a Windows 8 thing - on XP, Win7 and Server 2008 R2, I can use Chrome to see the panoramas on Photosynth.net and my own server (they use slightly different technology, but still Silverlight). I don't use Firefox for many reasons, so no idea. Definitely works in IE on those three operating systems I use. Win8 is something I plan to skip, as every other Microsoft OS is a dud, and Win8 is the one on the dud cycle.
