Hometown: Grand Haven, MI
Arrival Date: 07/15
Departure Date: 07/22
Coming From/Via: Houghton/Hancock 2pm Flight
Itinerary:
07/15 - Rock Harbor to Daisy Farm
07/16 - Daisy Farm to McCargoe Cove
07/17 - McCargo to Todd Harbor
07/18 - Todd Harbor to S. Desor (or maybe Island Mine depending on the feet and legs)
07/19 - S. Desor to Siskiwit
07/20 - Siskiwit to Feldtmann Lake
07/21 - Feldtmann Lake to Windigo
07/22 - 11AM flight back to Houghton/Hancock
Notes/Other: This is my 3rd trip to the island, but haven't been there in like 20 years, it is going to be interesting how my 47 year old self tackles it when my 27 year old self struggled at times. Looking forward to catching some pike. I was hoping to skip the first leg and take a water taxi down to Moskey Basin but was amazed when I called in April that there was basically zero availability.

Hometown: Spring Arbor, MI
Arrival Date: 9/8
Departure Date: 9/15
Coming From/Via: Seaplane via Hancock
Itinerary:
Day 0 - Hugginin
Day 1 - North Lake Desor
Day 2 - Little Todd
Day 3 - Todd Harbor
Day 4 - Lake Richie
Day 5 - Chippewa Harbor
Day 6 - Voyageur II back to Windigo. Washington Creek
Notes/Other:
Third year in a row going, this will be my second trip solo. This trip will put me five short of staying at all of the campgrounds not off of a portage trail, lake, or separate island. Really looking forward to the Minong trail, having a couple fires, and Hugginin and NLD campgrounds. After this trip I'll also have only the Feldtmann loop, Malone stretch, and oddly enough Daisy Farm to Mount Ojibway to have trekked every path. I'm sort of a completionist, so I think my trip next year will probably be a kayaking portage trip to hit some of the other lakes.

The last two years I was on the first trip the Queen IV made, so neither trip had much going on in terms of foliage. Really curious to see what the crowds look like.
S_R_L wrote: Mid September should be well past the crowd stage.
You'll also probably on the other side of the foliage with a bunch of it being gone. The last mid-August trip I did a lot of the trees had lost leaves already.

Hometown: Duluth, MN
Arrival Date: Late September
Departure Date: Even Later September
Coming From/Via: Grand Portage via the ferry
Itinerary: A little up in the air at the moment but as of now it's looking like this
Day 1 - ferry from Grand Portage to Windigo, hike to Island Mine
Day 2 - Island Mine to Siskiwit Bay
Day 3 - Siskiwit Bay to Feldtman Lake
Day 4 - Feldtman Lake to Washington Creek
Day 5 - Washington Creek to the ferry back to Grand Portage
(alternate scheme: some version of a route involving hiking to N. Desor and spending a 0-day there to make up for the hike length)
Notes/Other: My 5th trip, bringing my mom on her 7th? 8th? 10th trip? I honestly don't know, I'll have to ask her! She hasn't been backpacking in a number of years so we're in for an adventure.

Looking forward to hearing about your trip, would love to know more about you experiences at both Chippewa Harbor and the Hugginin to N. Lake Desor stretch!
