Yup, we're thinking the same, just worded differently ...

Five Finger Bay is located NW of Duncan Bay and NE of Lane Cove. It has 5 smaller long narrow bays, hence the five fingers. The largest finger is Stockly Bay, the others are unnamed. I think the Five Fingers area is generally thought of as roughly Belle Isle to Duncan Bay. In any case, I think I've used up my three strikes  .
And if you were a young mother with a six month old kid, where would you go?
Once met a mother who said they took their infant and a toddler kayaking from Belle Isle to Rock Harbor (on a previous trip). Took them 8 hrs to do the Duncan/Tobin portage. Can not imagine

My interpretation of the Five Fingers is that they are composed of the peninsulas (roughly five) that make up the NE part of the island. The campground with shelter(s), is located on one of those peninsulas.

And if you were a young mother with a six month old kid, where would you go?
I certainly wouldn't go to Merritt Lane with an infant, but then again I'm still not sure what composes the entirety of the Five Fingers.

Yuppers, it’s Three Mile.

I used the Five Fingers reference to get people looking toward the NE part of the island.

The backstory to this pic. It was taken in 1990. The couple with the six-month old are personal friends. We went over on the Queen, then went our own ways. I took my kayak around Blake Point and explored Duncan Bay, while they took the Sandy to Moskey Basin and spent several days hiking back to Rock Harbor. I joined back up with them at Three Mile. The infant in the pic is now 27. She got married two years ago.

Another pic of them on the trail.

Great story. Time flies too.

Here's an easy one looking towards the north-northeast

I am posting two pictures taken of the same area, but seven years apart. The one on top was taken June of 2016 and the one on the bottom was taken June of 2010. It is facing approximately NW. It is probably too easy but you have to like moose, especially when they wake you up while eating "salad."

I think I know this one but I'll refrain because I like to see everyone else's guesses! By the way, that water looks a little rough in the background.
