Ingo, I was just going to concur with treeplanter before you responded. The sunrise was a good hint. I thought that looked like Cemetery Island on the left.

I’ll try the new “guess where we are” thing.

Hints: Pic is taken on the Minong Trail, within 20 minutes of the McCargoe Cove Campground. It is a named landmark that is shown on most (all?) topo maps of Isle Royale. It is NOT shown on the IR map in the Greenstone newspaper. If you know your trees, especially genus/species, you should be able to figure this out.

Pine Mountain.

This one is maybe more difficult. I'd give a hint right away but I could be wrong.

It's a sunset. I'm pretty sure you've seen that island to the left.

Tobin Harbor? Down by the dock?

Is that Beaver Island in Washington Harbor, from the end of the dock?

See. I knew the slightest hint would make it too easy.

There are some nice sunsets from there but the star watching has too much light pollution from Thunder Bay.

I've been to Tobin Harbor dozens of times. It just took me awhile to put it together.
