Thank you very much for the information Vandy!
It looks like I will time my trip perfectly with the opening of the Windigo store.

In the 2012 Greenstone it says the store closes 9-10. I don't know if they open it for boats after that or not. Maybe someone who has been there later in the year can help you. Richard

Mike and I always go on the first and/or last boat. The store has never been open when we were there. Once the store closes, they remove the inventory.

Is that to suggest that it is open on 9/10 for its last day. As in...were are open until 5pm on 9/10 at to which point our doors will be closing for the season. Or is its initial daying of being closed start on 9/10. I'm just curious because I'm arriving to the island on 9/10.

I contacted the park about the store closeing times. They told me that on the posted date the store closes for the year when the boat departs for the day. So at Rock Harbor the newspaper says it closes on 9-8 so they close everthing in Rock harbor that day at 9am when the Boat leaves the island. When I emailed the park service for theinfo they answered me the same day. So if you email them they answer quickly. The Newspaper said that Windigo closes 9-10 so if there is something you really need I would plan for the day befor. Richard Except in your case arriving that day I would hit the store first.

Thanks Richard. I will email them today and get an answer on here for everyone else to see should anyone else be interested. I don't need anything from the store, but was curious to know whether or not I could look around it to burn time as I wait for the Voyageur to unload things at Windigo, before I got back on the boat to be dropped off at a different point
