Did you check out the animations available there? Impressive.

We are lucky this did not come later in the middle of winter.
Here's the Copper Harbor web cam:

And the more spectacular Eagle Harbor Web Cam:

Here's one close to Lake Superior Provincial Park on the northeast shore in Canada.

And remember that's not maximum wave height: "Significant wave height, WVHT, is approximately equal to the average of the highest one-third of the waves." So approx every 6th wave will be higher, roughly speaking. Offshore sailors say to expect waves up to 1 1/2 times the reported heights. Hee Haw!

Hope everyone is safe!

The Slate Islands Bouy recorded a 26.2' wave yesterday.

I think Passage Island probably had waves breaking near the lighthouse!!
We (niners and I) drove to Holland MI, yesterday. The "show" was incredible, well worth the drive. I will post some pics later.
There were 4 guys surfing on the North side of the breakwater. The waves weren't the 16'+ we were hoping to see, but impressive none the less.
Did anyone from the UP happen to see large waves?
I know the North Shore of the Keweenaw was expecting large waves.

This webcam loop is from Canada, not far from Slate Island.

I look forward to seeing your pictures. I used to live in Holland. Great beach.

Here's one more link to the above-mentioned storm. Take a look at the satellite photo...pretty impressive! Rock Of Ages lighthouse had 78 mph gusts and Standard Rock lighthouse had a 71 mpg gust. Crazy!!

I was following this...It's wild.
Down here, 120 miles south of Lake Michigan, the whole thing blew through in about an hour (riding on that south arm).....High winds, but no damage where I live, and only about a inch of rain. Moved through quick and left, with sunshine after.

That guy is brave who is surfing on the great lakes this time of year. I don't mean braving the waves, I mean braving the cold.
