been waiting for this all fall/winter. I happened to look on there the other day and saw the post had a date of 2007 and I thought I made it to an old post but then figured out they had a typo, can't wait to hear of the developments from the past year

Thanks John. I've been waiting on this. It's always such great reading. I swear it's like a soap opera with all the different plot lines that emerge through the season.

I've been reading it over the last few days. Can't wait to see what news they get about the wolf packs.

I'm glad to see that it has started again. I've been waiting for this since it ended last year.

It would appear, from the most recent postings by the Winter Study group, that there is now only one pack and several lone wolves on IR. See most recent posting)
They also discuss the impact that may have in the future. Great read.

Yeah there is some pretty crazy stuff happening with the wolves right now yall should check out. Chippewa Harbor Pack killed the alpha male of Middle pack, and those wolves have dispersed.

Interesting stuff!

Winter study 2011 is now officially in the books, I will be sad that there are no other posts to keep me busy at work. I really enjoy this study and makes me want to be there more than anywhere else

It was a rather sad, melancholy last post. I'm not sure how to read it: did they feel that this year's study was a failure, were they disheartened at the apparent loss of the Middle Pack, were they disappointed that they did not get in the amount of research and fly time they wanted? I, for one, have not only enjoyed the objective reports, but the reflections and insights of the authors. I know that they know how important their research is and, while perhaps not as "successful" as other years, certainly will just as important for the conclusions that they reach.
