Ranger III Falls trips

Post by johnhens »

The Ranger III will offer extended season trips this year.
The last "Season Trip" is
Houghton 9/13 Rock Harbor 9/15

The Extended Season trips will have 6 seats set aside for passengers.

Leaving Houghton Leaving Rock Harbor
9/20 9/22
9/27 9/28
10/4 10/5
10/11 10/13

A same day trip to Windigo and back
10/18

If you have questions, call the Park Service.

That's fascinating. I don't remember the NPS doing this before. I assume the normal rates for passage still apply??

does anyone know if you can send a boat or canoe over on the ranger and have it dropped off in RH then take the seaplane over and pick it up? Thinking about a nice short trip and don't have the time to take the boats over and want to take a canoe...TIA

Do you know yet if they will have these extended season trips in 2012, too?

Never mind - I just got to the new topic of 2012 boat schedule listings. They will have the late season trips again (from ingo) Ranger III http://www.nps.gov/isro/planyourvisit/r ... ations.htm

Just scheduled an October trip. I hope my girlfriend and I do not turn into popsicles while on the island during this time of year. We also hope not to be thrashed to death by a bull moose staking out his territory for females. Has anyone else made a plan for an October trip yet? I am pretty certain he said we were the first ones to schedule a trip this year this late in the season, but I wasn't sure if he meant for the particular days we picked in specific or October in general. Either way there is only 6 spots available for each ride, so I figured why not make a reservation now before I decide to wait until the last minute and find out Im too late.
