How much rope would you suggest bringing to hang a 5x7 tarp for a sitting/cooking area? Also need to consider additional with proposed food hanging regs.

While I use a Kelty Noah's tarp, I prerope it. I'll put six to eight feet of light nylon line on each grommet along with a "figure9" rope tightener. That way, I'm ready to set up and I don't have to deal with one long rope and try to figure out how to tie it and keep it tight. Then, I'll also have a second 50' or so of coiled nylon rope for other uses--clothes line, etc.

Ditto, except I use rolling hitches to adjust/tighten :D (thank you Boy Scouts)
