Hi all,

Just curious how many folks bring their kids on their trips to Isle Royale? Are children a fairly common site on the island, or fairly rare? My two are 6-1/2 and 10 and I know they always enjoy their run-ins with other kids on our camping trips. Just curious!

In '09 on my way from Rock Harbor to Daisy Farm a mother and her three children would pass me when I took a break and then I would pass them when they took theirs. The oldest was a teen (14-15) and the other two were about the age of your two. I've seen lots of teenages (scouts usually) at Isle Royale. Last year there was a 10 or 11 year old at Washington Creek/Windigo when I came off the Minong Ridge Trail. At Daisy Farm last year a couple had their infant with them. They brought the baby down to Candy and Rolf Peterson's evening presentation at the dock. You usually will see all ages at Rock Harbor.
